My research field is environmental photography and an appropriate understanding of exploration and the explorers role and identity in the 21st century.<\/p>\n

Research Focus:<\/p>\n

1. Photography’s role in championing ecological awareness and investigate the contemporary image of remote landscapes and man\u2019s invasion into the realm of nature.<\/p>\n

2. Documenting social reality of sauna habits and extrapolate over the long-term the role of Sauna in contemporary Finnish society. \u00bbThe Sauna project\u00ab<\/a><\/p>\n

3. Epistemology and Media Historiography of (Arctic) Wilderness as Political and Economical Landscape in co-operation with Felix Sattler \u00bbInstitute of Wilderness and Wild Technologies\u00ab<\/a><\/p>\n

4. Establish a continuous loop between photography and social spaces based on the outcome of the research of the image and environmental photography with a focus on arctic regions.<\/p>\n
